Arsenio Vargas Agostini, Sr., 68, of Lorain passed away peacefully Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

He was born December 17, 1948 in Lares, Puerto Rico to Luis Arcelio Vargas Rivera and Francisca Agostini Rivera. He married Luz N. González Romero November 18, 1972, his loving wife for 45 years. From that union were born four children: Iraida, Arsenio Jr., Javier and Samuel.

Arsenio was a great son, a wonderful and lovely husband, a special father and a charming grandfather. An upfront brave, confident, valiant man, with a decisive personality. A firm father, a leader, charitable works, fervent son of God.

During his life, Arsenio worked for his family, and was a great leader in his church. Being president of the society of gentleman, Superintendent of Sunday School. He was worked in the construction of the Pentecostal Church of God in Lares, Puerto Rico. He helped people in need, also carrying the Word of God. Also, he liked to sing in the church. For those who knew him, he was a man of faith and faithful servant of God.

He is survived by his a daughter Iraida I. Vargas González, son Arsenio Vargas González and his wife Tirsa Vargas; three grandchildren Erick Jair, Kibsaym Jner and Castiel Jsen, son Javier Vargas González and his young son Samuel Vargas González and his wife Carmen N. Santiago; two grandchildren Cristina Noemí and Samuel Elí.

His wife, daughter, sons, grandchildren, family, brothers in faith, and friends, we will always remember him. Believing that he no longer suffers, and that he dwells in the presence of God. We will not say goodbye, because we will always carry him in our hearts. Papi, you were a great husband, a special father, a lovely grandfather, and a great friend of those who knew you. Rest in peace.

Arsenio’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 13 from 5 until time of a Celebration of Life Service at 7 PM in La Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal “Ebenezer” 3660 Globe Avenue, Lorain. His Funeral Service will be Thursday at 10 AM. Pastor Jose Mojito will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love, compassion and caring of those who always remembered my husband in life, and offered him his sincere friendship. Thank you for always keeping him in your prayers during his illness.
