Frank Chester Price, 78 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, September 28, 2017.

He was a lifetime resident of Amherst, born May 15, 1939. Frank was raised Catholic and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst.

Frank proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed at Ford Motor Company in Lorain for thirty-eight years before retiring in 1999 as a truck driver. Frank also drove tractor for Fowls Farm. He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Frank enjoyed repairing small engines. He was a member of Amherst Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1442 and the American Legion Post #118 in Amherst.

Those he leaves behind to treasure his memory are his wife of thirty-four years Sylvia Jane Price (nee: Simko); his son Anthony Price of Vermilion; his daughter Danielle Price of Lake City South Carolina; his stepson Phillip Presutto, Jr. of Amherst; his step daughter Raquael Krieg of Amherst; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; his brother Fred (Arlene) Price of Lorain and his sister Patricia (Harold) Anderson of Amherst.

He was preceded in death by his son Alan Matthew Hook; his nephew Mike Anderson; his niece Julie Anderson; his brother Bobby Price and his parents Frank and Esther Price (nee: Gringle).

Friends may call Sunday, October 1, 2017, from 2-6 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
