James "Jim" R. Alloway, age 67 years and a life resident of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at his residence after a nine month illness.
Jim was born in Lorain, September 6, 1949, to William E. Alloway and the late Victoria B. (nee Dombrowski) Alloway. 
He was a 1967 graduate of Lorain High School. He attended Lorain County Community College following high school. He proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was retired from Republic Engineer Products the former United States Steel. He had been employed there for 37 years retiring in 2013. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, was very involved with his family, and enjoyed dining out. Most importantly he was an active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8686, Sheffield Lake.
He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lorain.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years Catherine E. (nee Waseleski), his daughter Amber Alloway of Nevada, son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Kristen Alloway of Lorain, his father William E. Alloway of Elyria, brother and sister-in-law Tom and Sharon Alloway of New London, and brother Dr. William John Alloway of Maryland.
There will be a memorial service 7 p.m., Friday, at the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family wishes to express the heartfelt thanks to the staff of Stein Hospice for the special care that they provided.
