Josephine (Aquilino) Dominico died peacefully at the age of 101 on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, surrounded by family. 
She was born on May 11, 1916 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Vincent "Jim" and Mary Aquilino, and grew up with two sisters, Antoinette and Violet. Josephine, and her husband, Alfred, moved to San Diego, California in 1974. Lantern Crest Senior Living in Santee, California had been her home for the past three years.
Josephine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated and distinguished member of The Church of Jesus Christ for 85 years. She served as a Sunday School teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School, Deaconess, Holiday Program Coordinator, and Ladies Circle secretary, treasurer and president. 
Her interests included reading, arts, crafts, sewing, and floral arranging. Josephine was an accomplished cook and baker. She loved cooking Italian food, including homemade pastas, lasagna and Italian wedding soup. Her favorite baking specialties included cannolis, turdilli, pizelles, cheesecake and her famous lemon pie, to name a few. 
Josephine is survived by her two sons, David (Loretta) of Wellington, Ohio and Fred (Donna) of San Diego, California, and six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and sisters, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Alfred, in 2003.
Josephine touched many lives with her smile, love, gentleness and compassion. She was loved by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11 am at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 N. Ridge Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001, with interment to follow. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ, 2655 Broadway, Lorain, OH 44052, or to Sharp Hospice Care, 8881 Fletcher Parkway, Suite 336, La Mesa, CA 91942.
