Ola M. Huddleston (nee Shannon), of Lorain, made her transition from this life on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland following a lengthy illness. She was born January 3, 1937 in Tupelo, Mississippi, moving to Lorain in 1959.

She was employed with the city of Lorain for over 30 years before retiring. She was a hard worker, a faithful wife, wonderful loving mother, grandmother and a strong woman of faith who loved the Lord. She had a very quiet and sweet spirit, a woman of very few words, but her presence filled a room. She was an anointed singer, who loved to sing the old gospel songs. She loved to read her Bible, spend time with family, go to church and go to the mall.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Debra Simpson (Gerald) of Lorain, Brenda Martin (Willie) of San Antonio, Texas, Gloria Simpson (Michael) of Lorain, Colinette Wilson (Nathan) of Portsmouth, Virginia, Andrea Huddleston of Columbus and Dana Cameron (Derrick) of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; her siblings, Lee Shannon of Temple, Texas and O.L. Shannon (Jennie) of Elyria; a brother-in law, Bishop Franklin Huddleston (Jean) of Tampa, Florida and Leslie Huddleston of New York and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin A. Huddleston; a great-grandson, DeAndre McDowell; her parents, Lee Shannon and Willie B. Shannon (nee Pearson); sisters, Helen Stokes, Charline Robbins, Mamie Johnson and Lorine Shannon and brothers, Irvin, Jurge, George and James Shannon.

Visitation will be Monday, February 12, 2018 from 11 A.M. until time of serve at 12 Noon at The Original Glorious Apostolic Church, 995 Foster Ave in Elyria. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst. Arrangements entrusted to Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
