On Sunday, March 11, 2018, our dear sister and friend Rosa Olivette Perkins, 92 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ even as she had lived, quietly and peacefully, at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain.

She was a lifetime resident of Lorain, born on December 10, 1925. Rosa was a graduate of Clearview High School with the class of 1943. She acted as the class secretary for the class of 1943 for many years after graduation. Rosa earned an art diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Art.

She was employed as a sales person at O'Neil department Store in Lorain. Rosa came to a personal faith in Christ at an early age. She loved to read and study the Bible and enjoyed hymns of worship, praise and devotion to her Lord. She was a faithful longtime member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorain. Rosa had a servants heart, she taught toddlers in Sunday School, sang in the choir, was active in the Women's Missionary Fellowship and used her artistic skills maintaining and regularly updating the Missionary Bulletin Board. She helped in Vacation Bible School and the children's clubs and was a faithful prayer warrior, praying for the club children by name. Rosa loved corny jokes and would usually have a section of jokes ready to read at any given moment.

Survivors include her sister-in-law Cynthia Perkins; her nieces and nephews Kim Perkins, Gail Willmore, Rachael Perkins, Gretchen Evans, Adrienne Perkins, Clifton Perkins, III and Scott Perkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton Perkins I and Willie Lee Perkins (nee: Tarver); her sister Hazelle Perkins and her brothers Clifton II and Tarver, and Clifton II's wife Marion.

Rosa remained single her entire life and dearly loved her family, including her five nieces and two nephews and her church family. The staff at Anchor Lodge also became her family. She in turn, was loved by all.

Rosa will be greatly missed and not forgotten.
