Most Common Reasons to Avoid Pre-Planning

I’ve managed Ridge Hill Memorial Park for a while now, and I’ve heard a lot of reasons for avoiding pre-planning. I’ll discuss the most common below. Whether you plan on using Ridge Hill or another cemetery, I think it’s extremely wise to pre-plan. Feel free to message me personally or call my office at 440-233-5113 if you have any questions about cemetery pre-planning.

Reason: I don’t need to pre-plan because I don’t plan on passing anytime soon.

My answer: That’s exactly why now is the best time to pre-plan. By making your arrangements early you lock in the current prices and have access to discounts and payment plans. Why spend more later for something we’re all going to need eventually?

Reason: My kids or loved ones will deal with it after I’m gone.

My answer: Nobody should have to plan for a loss while they’re grieving one. Pre-planning takes the financial and emotional burden off of your loved ones. It’s one of the last gifts you’ll ever be able to give them.

Reason: I don’t want to think about death.

My answer: I hear you, neither do I. But it’s something that we all do think about at times, and it can be stressful. Pre-planning gives you the peace of mind that at least your wishes will be honored.

Reason: It’s too expensive.

My answer: Nothing ever gets cheaper over time, quite the opposite. When you pre-plan you get the lowest possible pricing and access to a 0% monthly payment plan. If money is a concern, can you afford not to pre-plan?
